ABOUT TINTAGEL MEMORIAL PLAYING FIELDS AND IT'S TRUSTEES

Tintagel Memorial Playing Fields (O/S Grid Ref: SX0688) off Bossiney Road, about 14 acres, were donated to the villagers of Tintagel in 1946/7 by Mr and Mrs PJ Stephens of Coombe Cottage, Bossiney Back Lane, Tintagel.

The playing field is run by Trustees and a newly formed group of Fields Managers, namely the Tintagel Memorial Playing Fields Association and the freeholder is the charity Fields In Trust (formerly National Playing Fields Association). All Trustees and Field Managers are volunteers.

2007/08 Trustees are:   Guy Keenan, Treasurer; Sarah Melton, Secretary; Heidi Burgess; Sue Boxall; David Littlejohns; Teresa Anderson; Susan Moth; Colin Savage.  We currently have vacancies for THREE pro-active, committed Trustees ( a new Chairman and a Secretary particularly required as current secretary moving away for family reasons and current Trustees reducing their commitment for personal reasons): interested Tintagel residents should contact the Secretary.

Currently Tennis, Football and Cricket are played on the site. Development Plans were produced and approved recently for improved changing facilities, better site access with designated parking and a skateboard park.   Funding is due to be sought to enable the improvements to take place as soon as possible for the benefit of the village as a whole.
The amenities currently on site are as follows:-

Football Pitch
Youth Football Pitch
Football Changing Hut (Condemned)
Cricket Pitch
Cricket Pavilion
Cricket Store
Tennis Courts x 3 (hard surfaces and fenced)
Children’s Play Area
Car Parking

For more information please contact the Secretary.
